In support of Children in Need we are collecting old mobile phones, PDAs and mp3/4 players. For more information read on...
There are millions and millions of unwanted devices sitting in desk drawers across the UK. It's a really easy way to show your support -- and it's good for the environment, because anything that can't be used is safely recycled, so nothing ends up in landfill.
Over the past three years, Regenersis have raised almost £1 million for BBC Children in Need through a nationwide mobile phone recycling campaign. In 2008, we would like to make the biggest donation so far and you can help! Your unwanted mobile phone, MP3/4, or PDA could be worth up to £80 depending on how flashy it is. To participate is easy:
1. Find your old phone
2. Make sure you've removed the SIM card and all the data (pictures, videos, messages, contacts, etc)
3. Bring into Goyt Mill Pets & Saddlery anytime upto 25 November 2008.
4. We'll send all the phones we've collected to Regenersis for you!
So remember, look in draws, cupboards and down the back of the sofa to find any unused mobiles, they don't even have to work, have a charger and it doesn't matter how old it is, you can still do your bit!
£80 will be donated for working handsets with a 5 megapixel camera. If the handset is not working, the donation will be reduced to £20.
£20 will be donated for working handsets with a 3 megapixel camera. If the handset is not working, the donation will be reduced to £5.
£4 will be donated for working handsets with a basic camera or no camera. If the handset is not working, the device will be safely recycled.
Regenersis takes its environmental responsibilities very seriously. As a result, Regenersis ensure that nothing goes to landfill and if a handset is too old or beyond economincal repair we will reuse certain components and safely recycle the rest of the handset. There is a cost associated with recycling, freepost, processing, envelope production and promotion of this campaign. As a result, if a handset has a resale value of less than £7, Regenersis will be unable to make a donation to BBC Children in Need in order to offset these costs.
